Kathmandu, July 9
Wyndham Hotels and Resorts has announced plans to enter Nepal and Bhutan.
The brand is one of the world's largest hotel franchising companies with
9,300 hotels across about 90 countries. It has also announced the opening of
Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Dwarka, the first in India.
"All three hotels are part of the company's larger efforts to expand
its footprint across South Asia and are complemented by additional properties
in the region that either recently opened or are slated to open over the next
nine months," said the company.
Nikhil Sharma, Wyndham's Eurasia Director, said that over the last few
years, Nepal and Bhutan had seen a steady increase in tourism, making them
ideal destinations for the company to expand into.
"As the Indian subcontinent continues making waves in the
hospitality industry, Wyndham remains laser focused on tapping into its key
markets and fulfilling our mission of making hotel travel possible for
all," he said.
They plan Ramada Encore by Wyndham Kathmandu, Thamel, Ramada by Wyndham
Valley Thimpu, and Ramada by Wyndham Mussoorie Mall Road.
"Ramada Encore will be opened in Thamel. The hotel will offer 90
guest rooms with a range of amenities to make for a comfortable stay and a
rooftop with a scenic view of the city," it said.
The hotel will be launched next month, in August 2020.
