Kathmandu, Feb. 7: The Pashupati Area Development Trust
(PADT) has made public the routes to be taken by the devotees who want to pay
homage to Lord Pashupatinath during the Mahashivaratri festival on February 13.
In order to facilitate the devotees and other visitors, the
PADT has arranged parking at various locations around the Pashupati area and set
the entry points at Tilganga, Gaushala, Gaurighat and Mitrapark.
Devotees visiting the temple on Shivaratri Day from the airport
and Gaushala should reach the southern door (Dakshin Dhoka) of the temple
through Pinglasthan – Sumargi Bhavan – Char Shivalaya Panchadeval.
People visiting the temple from Guheshwori side should follow
the Gaurighat – Umakunda – Dakshinamurti – Rudragadeshwor – Basukinath – Uttar
(north) Dhoka route.
Similarly, the route for the devotees from Chabahil and
Mitrapark is Jaya Bageshwori- Bhuwaneshwori – a small police gate besides the
Paschim (west) door.
The PADT said that the devotees visiting the temple on
Mahashivaratri should follow the same route while exiting.
Regular devotees should enter the temple from the small
police door beside the west main door.
Devotees having special passes for worship can enter the
temple through the East Door, following the Tilganga – Pinglasthan – Rammandir
route.
Likewise, devotees and foreign tourists can park their
vehicles at Tilganga, staff of the Festival Management Committee at Dev
Uddhan/Bhandarkhal, security agencies and government officials with passes at the
Metropolitan Police Circle, Gaushala, vehicles with passes and local people on
the Sifal ground, and visitors arriving from Gothatar, Mulpani and Bouddha areas
should park their vehicles across the Guheshwori Temple.
