Kathmandu, May 4: OYO Hotels has expanded its
footprint to 10 cities in Nepal.
The company had launched its operation in
Kathmandu in May 2017 and has expanded business to Pokhara, Dhulikhel,
Bhaktapur, Nagarkot, Chitwan, Biratnagar, Hetauda, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi. It
has over 200 franchised hotels with more than 3,400 rooms in its chain.
OYO Hotels and Homes is the South Asia's
largest and China's second largest chain of leased and franchised hotels, homes
and living spaces.
Aditya Ghosh, Chief Executive Officer - India
& South Asia, OYO Hotels and Homes, said, ‘’We commenced our operations in
Nepal and have learnt a lot from the country’s hospitality landscape and the
huge opportunity it offers. We are focused on growing our presence to ensure
high-quality, affordable experiences for tourists while driving high and
consistent yields for asset owners."
He said that the company had recently announced
an investment of INR 140 billion for India and South Asia.
According to the company, Nepal has emerged as the next big
opportunity for OYO Hotels and Homes.
There is a huge disconnect between demand and
supply of quality living spaces, forcing travellers and Nepalese to compromise
on location, quality and price, it said.
Since its launch in Nepal, OYO has transformed
over 200 hotels to ensure standardization and consistency in the guest
experience.
