Vivo launches concept phone with 12 GB RAM, 256 GB storage

Kathmandu, May 9: Vivo has launched a concept phone with futuristic simplicity and 5G capability.
Named as Apex 2019, the future phone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 platform, with large memory of 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.
The new phone will have super unibody design that functions around a central unit which aims to make the display even more exclusive focal point with finger sensors.
"It is as minimalistic as possible and looks distinctive. It has fewer ports, is comfortable to hold and has smoother interactions," said Prakash Subedi, Marketing and Brand Manager of Vivo in Nepal.
"Having gone through generations of product iterations and updates, we finally achieved Full-Display Fingerprint Scanning on APEX 2019, reaching new heights in the In-Display Fingerprint scanning history," said the company.
With a sensor covering almost the entire display, users are not limited to a single spot to touch and unlock. They can touch almost anywhere on the display to unlock seamlessly.
"To make the unlocking experience even smoother, we have introduced a practical feature called Fingerprint Light - when a fingerprint touches the display, the pixels around the touch point will automatically light up as an additional light source to help obtain a clear fingerprint image," the company said.
It also said that Apex 2019 will use capacitive touch and pressure-sensing together as all the physical buttons would be removed from the phone.
"On the slim and sophisticated phone’s side, three capacitive buttons and two pressure sensors are tightly packed together to control volume and power.  We call it “Touch Sense”. With carefully designed programming logic and software, the pressure sensors can tell if there’s a press; and the capacitive buttons can determine its position, providing sensitive accuracy," said the company.
The new phone will feature Screen SoundCasting technology. Without an earpiece slot, it sends clear sound to your ear through the screen.
Likewise, USB ports are removed from the phone and magnetic ports are used. The port and connector pins both are flat.
The new phone features liquid cooling technology with vapor chamber plate. When temperature rises, liquid evaporates and absorbs heat, when temperature drops, steam is liquefied and releases heat. This cycle continues to repeat itself, and the phone body's heat gets radiated.
