Kathmandu, Aug 27
A recent study of Freedom Forum has shown that the presence
of women has gradually increased in the media industry.
It said that in comparison to last year, the number of
byline and content mentioning women has increased.
From 2019 April to June, Gorkhapatra daily has published the
highest number of news stories with female byline.
About 17 news stories
with female byline were published during that period. Among the online media
outlets, Setopati has topped all in terms of women written news publication.
Most of the female journalists are writing on women and social
issues. In six months’ period, of the monitored 666 bylines, 13 per cent were of
female and 87 per cent were of male.
