VNY web, social media launched


Kathmandu, Sept. 18:

The Visit Nepal Year 2020 Secretariat, Wednesday,  launched official website, news portal and social media handles of the VNY 2020.


The websites are visitnepal2020.com and visitnepal2020.gov.np, news portal visitnepalnews.gov.np, and social media include @nepallifexperiences in Facebook, @visitnepalyear2020_official in Instagram, @vny2020official in Twittter and @visitnepal2020-secretariat in LinkedIn.

The VNY 2020 aims at extending the tourist stay from current 12 days to 15 days and per tourist expenditure per day to 65 US dollars.


Similarly, the contribution of tourism sector to the Gross Domestic Product will be increased to 5 per cent from the current 2 per cent.


Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai, VNY 2020 Coordinator Suraj Vaidya, NRNA Patron Dr. Upendra Mahato, Governor of Province 3 Governor Anuradha Koirala, Tourism Entrepreneur Yogendra Shakya, Miss Nepal Anushka Shrestha and other personalities jointly launched the websites and social media.


Speaking on the occasion, Minister Bhattarai said that it was the time of action and the government was moving ahead with rapid action to make the VNY a great success.


He said that the websites will soon have messages from President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, leaders of opposition parties, artistes, players, private sector leaders and other famous people.


Sending his message to the programme, PM Oli said that the VNY was not the programme of the government only but of all Nepali people.
