FNCCI, govt sign MoU to promote cottage, small industries

Kathmandu, Jan. 3

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and Center for the Promotion of Cottage and Small Industries of the Government of Nepal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to forge partnership and cooperation to promote cottage and small industries in Nepal.

The MoU was signed by Gokarna Raj Awasthi, Director General of the FNCCI, Deepak Ghimire, Executive Director of the Centre.

According to the agreement, partnership and cooperation programmes will be conducted in the field of promotion of cottage and small industries in cooperation of both organisations.

The two organisations will actively cooperate with each other to make the government announced programmes in this sector successful.

The federation will facilitate the implementation of workplace-based employment training programmes while both the organisations will cooperate to transfer of skills and technology necessary to promote cottage and small industries.

Speaking at the MoU signing programme, Vice-president of the FNCCI, Sur Krishna Vaidya, expressed the commitment that the business body, which has a large network of industrialists and businessmen, will work in cooperation with the government in the development of cottage and small industries in the country and that they will move forward together for the development and promotion of this sector in the future.

Similarly, Ghimire expressed his belief that the programmes of the center will be successful when working together with the FNCCI.
