Om Devi Malla elected as the President of National Cooperative Federation

Om Devi Malla is unanimously elected as the President of the National Cooperative Federation (NCF).

The 31st Annual General Meeting of the NCF held on 12 and 13 January in Kathmandu elected her to the post, making her the first female president of the organisation since its establishment three decades ago.

Malla was previously a Senior Vice-President of the NCF and also has been a global board member of the International Cooperative Federation and a member of the Constituent Assembly of Nepal.

She expressed her commitment to move ahead in cooperation with all to strengthen the cooperative campaign. She has succeeded Minraj Kandel, Keshav Badal and Deepak Prakash Baskota.

The AGM has elected 25 members to the Board of Directors and three members to the Audit Supervisory Committee unopposed.

Ramesh Prasad Pokharel is elected as the senior vice president. He is also the outgoing chairman of Rashtriya Sahakari Bank.

Khem Bahadur Pathak, D.B. Basnet and Indira Pant have been elected vice-presidents. Similarly, Bhim Tulachan has been elected as the coordinator of the Accounting Supervision Committee.

Other elected directors include Tek Prasad Chaulagai, Huma Kumari JC (Anju), Badri Prasad Lamsal, Kashi Chandra Baral, Paritosh Paudyal, Harihar Nath Yogi, Madhav Prasad Joshi, Shambhu Prasad, Chhatra Prasad Rimal, Parbati Neupane, Tika Neupane, Nathuni Yadav, Prem Prasad Subedi Jaisi, Suman Nepal, Homnath Jaisi, Ekata Shah, Yogmaya Subedi, Sharda Dahal, and Kamala Kumari Subedi Paudel.

Likewise, Amarnath Neupane and Hem Kumari Adhikari are the newly elected members of the Accounts Supervision Committee.
