Kathmandu, Jan. 31
Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has appointed Sanjiv Sharma as an honorary representative of Nepali
businesses to Australia.
In a statement
on Friday, the NCC informed that Rajesh Kazi Shrestha, Chairman of the
Chamber’s Advisory Council, handed over the honorary representative certificate
to Sharma, a member of the Non-Resident Nepali Association International
Coordination Committee, and an entrepreneur.
During an event
in Australia, Shrestha congratulated Sharma and extended his best wishes for
the upcoming tenure. The NCC maintained that Sharma was selected as an honorary
representative to promote trade, tourism, and investment between Nepal and
Australia.
Shrestha said
that Australia holds significant importance due to its large Nepali community
and trade potential. "There is strong potential for exports from Nepal to
Australia. In the current fiscal year, Nepal has exported goods worth Rs. 840
million, including handicrafts, carpets, and pasta. Australia is a promising
market for these products," he said.
He urged
Non-Resident Nepalis in Australia to invest in Nepal.
Likewise, Sharma
expressed his commitment to facilitating trade and attracting investment to
Nepal, emphasising his efforts to promote exports through trade facilitation.
