Royal Tulip comes to Gwarko

Kathmandu, June 18

Sarovar Hotels, part of the Louvre Hotels Group, launched Royal Tulip in Gwarko, Kathmandu on Wednesday, marking the debut of the internationally Royal Tulip brand in Nepal.

Developed by The Massif Hotel Pvt. Ltd., this hotel claimed that it is the largest hotel in the country by room count and Kathmandu's most expansive MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination. It has 308 rooms and suites, but it will initially operate with 104 rooms.

A significant highlight of Royal Tulip Kathmandu is its convention centre, the largest in Kathmandu, offering over 30,000 sq. ft. of versatile event space.

“This includes two grand banquet halls, each approximately 11,000 sq. ft., six additional meeting rooms, and breakout areas. With facilities ranging from an 800 sq. ft. boardroom to a sprawling ballroom and dedicated parking for up to 600 cars, the hotel is perfectly equipped for a wide range of events, from international conferences to destination weddings,” the hotel informed in a statement.

Rajendra Shakya, Chairman of the Massif Hotel, said that the project reflects their commitment to transforming Nepal’s hospitality scene and setting new standards in comfort, service, and scale.

Likewise, Ajay K. Bakaya, Chairman of Sarovar Hotels and Director of Louvre Hotels India, stated that Royal Tulip Kathmandu is a bold expression of the brand's evolution in South Asia and a strategic response to the rising demand for high-quality hospitality and large-format event venues in emerging global cities.
