Tourism Minister inspects Bamka

Kathmandu, Jun. 7

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, has visited the Bamka Bazaar area in his home district of Bajura to inspect the damage caused by a recent fire.

Soon after receiving news of the incident, Minister Pandey travelled from Kathmandu to Bajura to conduct an on-site inspection of the fire-affected area, the Minister’s secretariat informed in a statement on Saturday. During his visit, he assessed the condition of homes, shops, and other structures that were destroyed in the blaze.

The fire broke out on Friday following a gas cylinder explosion at the Nawadurga Hotel located in Bamka Bazaar. As a result, nearly 40 shops in the area were completely destroyed.

Local residents, citing significant financial losses, have urged the government to provide relief and support for reconstruction efforts.
