Computer
Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation and Jyoti Bikas Bank Limited (JBBL) have
agreed to cooperate in the development of information and communication
technology (ICT) and expansion of digital services across the country.
The two
institutions signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to launch joint
programmes on training, awareness and other events to promote and expand ICT
and digital services in various locations in Nepal.
According
to the MoU, JBBL will provide small and medium enterprises (SMEs) loan of up to
Rs. 1.5 million to the members of the CAN Federation and employees associated
with their companies. Likewise, the bank will provide all banking services and
facilities in an easy and cost-effective manner.
It will
offer women entrepreneurship loan, educational youth self-employment loan and
foreign returnee youth loan to the CAN-affiliated institutions and human
resources affiliated to them. It will also provide QR code to the member of CAN
Federation if they are involved in retail business in the ICT sector.
Vice-president
of CAN Federation Ranjit Poddar and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the bank Paras
Raj Kandel have signed the MoU.
The CAN
Federation has its presence in seven provinces and 70 districts outside the
Kathmandu Valley, and JBBL has 105 branches, one extension counter and 61 ATMs.
