Kathmandu, Dec. 21
Nepal Government, Confederation of Banks and
Financial Institutions Nepal (CBFIN) and Nepal Business Institute (NBI) are
jointly organising Nepal Business Summit 2023 engaging various ministries of
the Federal government.
The CBFIN and NBI have reached an agreement to hold
a significant policy dialogue and exhibition focusing on the banking and
economic sectors at the summit, which is scheduled to take place by mid-January
and February respectively at federal and provincial levels.
Bhoj Bahadur Shah, Senior Vice President of CBFIN,
and Bishal Gaire, Executive Chairman of NBI signed an agreement for the same on
Wednesday.
"The summit aims to
protect large industries, encourage small, medium, and startup businesses,
increase investment in export, employment, and productive sectors by
identifying new investment opportunities, attract more investment by addressing
the policy and behavioral issues faced by entrepreneurs and businessmen, and promote
exports," CBFIN said in a statement.
According to organisers, high-level
officials from the government and private sector at the provincial level will
take part in the policy dialogues. They will also see the participation of the officials
of the provincial government, leaders of major political parties, business organisation
executives, heads and deputy heads of all municipalities, and university
students.
Similar to this, a policy
dialogue will also be held at the federal level during the closing session,
with the participation of senior officials from the government and its related agencies,
senior political leaders, experts, and high-ranking officials from donor
community, according to the CBFIN.
At the summit, a national-level article writing
competition will be held for journalists from across the nation on the topic
of 'Challenges and
Roadmap to Prosperity in the Banking Sector and Economy as a whole'. The top 25 articles will receive
cash prizes and letters of appreciation.
