Mahalakshmi Life Insurance Limited
has launched 'Mahalakshmi Life in Women Empowerment' programme.
Chairman of the company, Manoranjan
Raman Sharma, launched the programme at a function organised in Sauraha of Chitwan on Monday.
The programme was attended by heads of branches/sub-branches, and officers.
According to Sharma, the company is running
the women empowerment programme under its corporate social responsibility.
Chief Executive Officer of the
company, Ramesh Kumar Bhattarai, said women in Nepal cannot move forward without
making them economically capable. This programme is expected to be useful and
fruitful in training women and leading them on the path of earning income
through employment and self-employment, he said.
This programme will be conducted in
30 districts in the current Fiscal Year 2022/23, and it targets to provide
direct employment to 60 women and indirect employment to more than 3,000 women.
"In coordination with government
and non-government agencies, we train women, involve them in various activities
including insurance for employment and regularly motivate them," said the
company in a statement.
