GOPA cooperatives elects new executive committee

Kathmandu, Jan. 15

Gorkhapatra Employee Multipurpose Cooperatives have elected a new executive committee in the leadership of Puspa Raj Joshi. The 16th Annual General Meeting of the cooperative held the other day in Kathmandu unanimously elected an 11-member committee in the chairmanship of Joshi.

The meeting elected Nanda Lal Tiwari and Basanta Malla Sharma as the vice-chairpersons, Bimala Ghimire as the secretary and Maya Acharya as the treasurer.

Bom Bahadur Khadka, Krishna Prasad Bhandari, Shyam Kumar Thapa, Binod Aryal, Yashoda Khanal and Prakash Mainali have been elected as the executive members. All the officials and members were elected unopposed.

Meanwhile, the AGM also elected a 3-member account supervision committee with Radha Chalise as its coordinator, Amir Maiya Ranjit and Lal Bahadur Kumal as its members.

The cooperatives also awarded the children of shareholders who scored the highest  marks in the SEE results.

The awardees are Niraj Yadav, Mridula Dhunganga, Pranit Shakya, Abhijon Dhungana, Spandan Upadhyaya, Niru Shrestha and Subigya Karki.

The cooperative with paid up capital Rs. 3.42 million has collected Rs. 15.89 million in savings by the end of the last fiscal year 2021/22. It has mobilised credit of Rs. 19.45 million.

The cooperative was established in 2006 and employees of the Gorkhapatra Corporation are its members.
