The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of
Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) is organising Nepal International Trade Fair 2023
from March 16 to 20 in Kathmandu.
This is the ninth edition of the FNCCI’s
flagship expo. It was not organised for the past two years due to COVID-19
pandemic.
The business body informed at a press
conference organised the other day that businessmen and industrialists from China, India,
Pakistan, Bangladesh and Bhutan would participate in the expo.
Nepali handicrafts, products listed in Nepal
Trade Integration Strategy (NTIS), and Made in Nepal goods will be exhibited at
the fair.
There will be a special exhibition of the
products and services of the 123 commodity associations which are the members
of the FNCCI for the first time this year.
The fair is going to be organised as a
calendar event in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies
while Trade and Export Promotion Centre is promoting the event and Lalitpur Chamber
of Commerce and Industry and Federation of Nepalese Handicraft Association
(FHAN) are the co-organisers.
There will be more than 300 stalls at the
fair to showcase domestic and foreign goods and services. SAARC countries
including Nepal, and China, Thailand, Myanmar and other countries will
participate in the fair. Buyers from China, Korea, Japan and other countries
are expected to come to the fair.
The fair also aims to organise direct
interaction with the international buyers. Separate stalls for handicrafts,
tourism, information and technology and business information, agricultural
products, energy, building and construction, education etc. will be managed at
the exhibition.
Similarly, there will be meetings with
business representatives from different countries and discussions on bilateral
trade promotion and investment.
The best stalls and products selected from
the fairs organised in different districts will be provided stalls free of cost
in the fair.
Free admission for the senior citizens and
differently abled persons will be managed at the fair.
