LIC Nepal to give 25 per cent bonus share

Kathmandu, May 24: The Life Insurance Corporation Nepal (LIC Nepal) Tuesday decided to distribute 25 per cent bonus share and 1.32 cash dividend, for tax purpose, to its shareholders.
The 14th Annual General Assembly of the company has decided to distribute the bonus and elected Kumar Keshar Bista as Public Director to the Board of Directors of the Company.
The company sold 149,796 insurance policies in the Fiscal Year 2014/15 and collected Rs. 1.81 billion from premium. 
By mid-July 2015, the company had 115,546 insurance policies and its life insurance fund reached Rs. 2.02 billion, the company informed in a press release.
The company witnessed 30.59 per cent growth in life insurance fund, 41.67 per cent growth on initial premium earning, 31.67 per cent on investment, and 16.16 per cent growth on income from investment in the last fiscal.

“The company has earned Rs. 4.60 billion by the end of the first quarter of the current fiscal year and has accumulated Rs. 24.58 billion in its life insurance fund,” read the release.
