Make investment summit a grand success: Oli

Kathmandu, Mar. 22: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged all the stakeholders, including the ministries and other government agencies, private sector organisations and businesses, to move together to make the Nepal Investment Summit 2019 a grand success.

He made such remarks at the second meeting of the Industry and Commerce Promotion Council held at the Singhadarbar on Friday.

He directed the organising committee to make arrangements for well-managed lodging of foreign delegates, and their security.

Prime Minister Oli said that any group or element that tries to disturb peace and harmony in the society would be brought under control.

"We are in a federal republic and having periodic elections. What do they want now? Should the government let them free to collect donation and extort the people? The government will not spare such elements that disturb the society," he said.

Suraj Vaidya has updated the meeting about the preparations of the summit which will be held in the Capital on March 29 and 30.

The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada, NCP General Secretary Bishnu Poudel, Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission Prof. Dr. Pushpa Raj Kandel and Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Board of Nepal Maha Prasad Adhikari.


Similarly, President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries Hari Bhakta Sharma, President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Rajesh Kazi Shrestha, tourism entrepreneur Ambika Shrestha, former President of Non-Resident Nepali Association Dr. Upendra Mahato, former President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Padma Jyoti, NRNA President Bhaban Bhatta and other representatives of the private sector attended the meeting.
