Kathmandu, March 22: Economist
Prof. Dr. Madan Kumar Dahal passed away Friday afternoon. He was 71.
He was undergoing
treatment at Kathmandu Medical College in Sinamangal, Kathmandu. He was
suffering from pancreas-related disease.
He was Professor of
Economics at the Tribhuvan University for the last four decades and had been the
research director for hundreds of students. He had received his PhD from the
University of Bombay.
A freelancing
consultant on government finance and development issues, late Dahal had worked
as the Founder Chairman in Mega Bank Limited.
He has also served as the president of Nepal
Economic Association, an organisation of the economists in Nepal.
