CG Hospitality and Marriott announce strategic alliance

Kathmandu, May 23

CG Hospitality Global, the hospitality arm of CG Corp Global and majority stakeholder in Concept Hospitality Private Limited (CHPL), has announced a collaboration with Marriott International through the global launch of Series by Marriott.

This new midscale and upscale collection brand will integrate The Fern, The Fern Residency, and The Fern Habitat – eco-sensitive Indian hotel brands – into Marriott’s global portfolio, the company informed in a statement on Friday.

"With over 120 operational hotels and 40 in development across 90 Indian cities, the move is set to add 84 Fern-branded properties and approximately 6,000 rooms to Marriott’s India portfolio," read the statement.

Marriott has also made a strategic equity investment in CHPL and established an exclusive long-term co-branding agreement for The Fern in India. Fern hotels will retain their regional identity while leveraging Marriott’s global distribution, digital platforms, and Bonvoy loyalty programme, which boasts over 237 million members.

The partnership marks a major stride in CG Hospitality’s global expansion plans, covering key markets such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, the UAE, and the Philippines.

In Nepal, CG Hospitality is enhancing its premium offering with properties like Miraaya Wellness and Golf Resort in Dhulikhel, Meghauli Serai – A Taj Safari Lodge in Chitwan, and the upcoming Unnati Cultural Village.

Rahul Chaudhary, MD and CEO of CG Corp Global as well as CG Hospitality Holdings, described the collaboration as 'a defining moment for The Fern and a bold new chapter for Indian hospitality', aiming to grow the brand to 500 hotels by 2030 and CG’s global portfolio to 650.

Meanwhile, CG Hospitality’s The Farm at San Benito in the Philippines is beaning rebranded as the country’s first Marriott Autograph Collection resort by late 2025.
