Deal signed for Online payment Of taxi fare

Kathmandu, Aug 14

Easy Taxi, a subsidiary of Easy Insurance Pvt. Ltd., has signed an agreement with Machhapuchchhre Bank Limited to pay the taxi fare electronically.

The agreement, signed by Deputy General Manager of the bank Sarju Kumar Thapa and Managing Director of the insurance Sanjit Poudel, enables the customers to pay the fare electronically to about 5,000 taxies operated under the Easy Taxi programme.

Customers have to scan the QR code of the bank to make the payment.

Poudel said that the collaboration with the bank would help the company to expand the services effectively. "We have been facing problems in making and receiving payments, but the agreement with the bank has solved the issue. The service will be more efficient now," he said.

The two companies have forged collaborations to promote the electronic payment and reduce the risk of virus contagion during the COVID-19 situation.
