Kathmandu, Aug 14
On the occasion of the 74th
Independence Day of Pakistan, its Embassy in Kathmandu organised a flag
hoisting ceremony at its premises on Friday.
Ambassador, Mazhar Javed hoisted the flag amidst
embassy officials, senior members of Nepal-Pakistan Friendship and
Cultural Association (NPFCA) and media representatives.
In a televised message, Foreign
Minister of Nepal Pradeep Kumar Gyawali expressed his felicitations to the
people of Pakistan and appreciated the friendly cordial relations between the
two countries.
President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi,
in a message, reaffirmed the resolve to live up to the ideals of Pakistan’s
founding fathers, and paid homage to the heroic struggle of all the workers of Pakistan
movement.
Likewise, Pakistani Prime Minister
Imran Khan paid tribute to all those who laid their lives while defending and
protecting the territorial and ideological frontiers of the motherland.
Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador Javed
recalled the history of Pakistan movement under the leadership of Quraid-i-Azam
Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
