Kathmandu, Aug 2
Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and
Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal has directed the commission for the
resolution of land related problems to expedite its work.
Speaking at a discussion with the members of
commission and lawmakers in Lalitpur on Sunday, she inquired about its
activities and overall progress.
"Try to
work to fulfill the objectives set while the commission was formed. Expedite
your work at all required sectors," she said.
The commission has the responsibility to find out
the landless and deprived sections of people and provide them with the land
ownership certificates. Minister Aryal said that it was one of the most
important responsibilities of the government so all the stakeholders needed to
support the commission in this drive.
Chairman of the commission Devi Gyawali also urged
the concerned bodies to extend their support to the commission.
The commission is working with the National
Reconstruction Authority (NRA) to provide the land ownership certificates to
the landless earthquake-affected families. The reconstruction body has urged
the commission to initiate a process to provide the land ownership to the
families, which have got permission to build their houses in the 32 quake
affected districts.
