Nine more Nepalis return from Afghanistan on Wednesday

Kathmandu, Sept 1

Additional nine Nepali migrant workers arrived in Kathmandu from Afghanistan through the regular Doha-Kathmandu flight of Qatar Airways on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said in a statement that five Nepalis had returned from the war-torn country through the same route on Tuesday evening.

With this, the total number of Nepalis returning from Afghanistan has reached 847.

The Ministry said that coordination was being made with the respective agencies to rescue Nepalis who were still in Afghanistan.

Nepali nationals who are in Afghanistan and have not registered their names at the portal of the Department of Consular Services (DoCS) -- https://nepalconsular.gov.np/ -- can register themselves or ask their families to make an entry of their whereabouts.

The MoFA has requested all concerned people and families to enter the details of themselves or relatives who are in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, the Ministry has also urged the returnee to inform the government through the web portal and the contact numbers when they safely reach their home or other destination.
