Kathmandu, May 25
The special general meeting of the Association of Former
Career Ambassadors of Nepal (AFCAN) held on Wednesday has formed a new board of
directors of the organisation under the chairmanship of Bhagirath Basnet.
The five-member board of directors includes vice-chairman, Mohan
Krishna Shrestha, general secretary, Jhabindra Prasad Aryal, treasurer, Niranjan
Man Singh Basnyat, and member, Prakash Kumar Subedi for a 2-year tenure.
The organisation aims at making necessary contribution to
make the relations established with the countries of the world harmonious,
stronger, comprehensive and reasonable.
In addition to protecting and promoting Nepal's national
interest, the AFCAN also acts as a think tank to assist the government in
policy formulation and implementation of Nepal's economic diplomacy, human
rights, environmental protection and other aspects for development and progress.
