AMCHAM and USAID sign agreement

 Kathmandu, May 9

American Chamber of Commerce Nepal (AMCHAM) and USAID Trade and Competitiveness Nepal have signed a cooperative agreement to facilitate business expansion between Nepal and the United States.

The agreement was signed by AMCHAM Chairman Ajit Shah and Head of USAID Trade and Competitiveness Nepal Agnes Luz, said the organisations in a statement on Tuesday.

Under the agreement, USAID Trade and Competitiveness will provide support to AMCHAM in policy development to enhance investment expansion. This agreement will create a conducive environment for businesses in both countries to expand into each other's markets. AMCHAM Chairman Ajit Shah stated that the agreement will promote investment between Nepal and America.

The partnership also includes AMCHAM's commitment to facilitating businesses interested in investing in Nepal. To accomplish this, AMCHAM will organise workshops and training sessions for businesses.

The agreement will be in effect from May 2023 to December 26, 2026. The AMCHAM is an organisation of companies operating in Nepal with American investment.
