Kathmandu, Aug. 13: Chinese
Vice-Premier Wang Yang will arrive in Kathmandu Monday on a four-day official
visit to Nepal at the invitation of the Government of Nepal.
Wang is scheduled to
hold delegation-level bilateral talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister
for Federal Affairs and Local Development Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar on Tuesday.
He will call on
President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on
Wednesday.
He will also meet
senior leaders of the major political parties.
According to a press
statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vice-Premier Wang will
initiate the reconstruction works of the 9-storey Basantapur Durbar on Tuesday.
The historic Basantapur
palace that was damaged by the 2015 earthquake is being reconstructed with
Chinese assistance.
The Chinese Vice-Premier
is also scheduled to visit the National Ayurveda Research and Training Centre
in Kirtipur. The centre was built with Chinese assistance.
He will return to Beijing
on August 17.
