Kathmandu, July 31: Finance
Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki Monday expressed commitment on behalf of the
government that every hurdle creating problems in doing business in the country
would be removed.
“As the private sector
has an important role in investment and employment generation, I am concerned
to the issues of the entrepreneurs. If you have any problems regarding
financial sector, come to me, I will do my best to resolve the issue,” he said
while speaking at an interaction on ‘Financial and monetary policy’ organised
by the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC).
He said that the
government was working to create a sustainable investment environment.
According to Karki, the
government is only the motivator to the investment, and without private sector
investment development of the country is impossible. Private sector has more
than two-thirds of the total investment in the country.
President of NCC Rajesh
Kazi Shrestha said that the traders were worried whether they would be forced
to pay multiple taxes after the full implementation of federalism.
He urged the government
