FM commits to remove hurdles in business



Kathmandu, July 31: Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki Monday expressed commitment on behalf of the government that every hurdle creating problems in doing business in the country would be removed.
“As the private sector has an important role in investment and employment generation, I am concerned to the issues of the entrepreneurs. If you have any problems regarding financial sector, come to me, I will do my best to resolve the issue,” he said while speaking at an interaction on ‘Financial and monetary policy’ organised by the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC).
He said that the government was working to create a sustainable investment environment.
According to Karki, the government is only the motivator to the investment, and without private sector investment development of the country is impossible. Private sector has more than two-thirds of the total investment in the country.
President of NCC Rajesh Kazi Shrestha said that the traders were worried whether they would be forced to pay multiple taxes after the full implementation of federalism.
He urged the government to issue a white paper on taxes to address the concerns of the businessmen.
