Nepal to establish bilateral mechanism with Turkmenistan



Kathmandu, Aug. 4: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara Friday said that a bilateral mechanism would be established between Nepal and Turkmenistan to address issues of bilateral concerns. 

During a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Nepal Parakhant H. Durdyev at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Singha Durbar, DPM Mahara said that the two countries could further their cooperation in various fields such as trade, investment and sports. 

Turkish ambassador Durdyev paid a courtesy call to Mahara on Friday afternoon.

According to the DPM, the two countries could cooperate in multilateral forums like the United Nations, Non-Aligned Movement and G-77. 

On the occasion, Durdyev urged Nepal to participate in the fifth Asian Indoor Marshal Arts Championship which is going to be held in Turkmenistan from September 17 to 27.
Mahara said that Nepal was preparing to send players to the championship.
