A United Arab Emirates
(UAE) delegation led by its Minister for Foreign Trade Dr.
Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi held a meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs
Shisir Khanal, at the latter's office at the Singha Durbar on Thursday.
During the meeting, the two Ministers discussed
strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and the UAE across a range of
areas of mutual interest, including greater cooperation in trade, investment,
AI, and digital transformation.
They also talked about cooperation in
tourism, labour migration, infrastructure, renewable energy as well as
increased Sovereign Wealth Fund investment in priority sectors, the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs (MoFA) informed in its post on X.
FM Khanal further underscored the enduring
friendship and growing cooperation between the two countries while highlighting
the Government of Nepal's aspiration to make the upcoming Golden Jubilee
celebration of diplomatic relations a major milestone by securing UAE
investment in various projects in Nepal.
The Minister also urged the UAE government
to remove the requirement of further verification of the Police Report after
attestation by the Department of Consular Services, read the statement.
