VP Yadav holds meeting with French Ambassador

Kathmandu, July 9

Vice-President Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav held a courtesy meeting with the French Ambassador to Nepal, Virginie Corteval on Thursday.

The Vice-President's Office informed in a statement that the two sides discussed various aspects of bilateral relations.

VP Yadav noted that the fundamental values of the French Revolution - liberty, equality and fraternity - had also inspired Nepal's political movements and struggles.

He said that Nepal-France relations had remained based on mutual respect, cooperation and cordial friendship since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1949. He also expressed confidence that relations between the two countries would become even stronger in the coming days.

On the occasion of the forthcoming French National Day, VP Yadav conveyed, through Ambassador Corteval, his best wishes to the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and people of France for their happiness, peace and prosperity.

Ambassador Corteval said that she had made efforts during her tenure to strengthen bilateral relations between Nepal and France.
