Additional 39 Nepalis died of COVID-19

Kathmandu, July 31

Additional 39 Nepalis succumbed to the COVID-19 pandemic in foreign countries in the last three week.

According to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), 37 Nepalis died in Malaysia alone while 1 each died in Iraq and Uganda.

As per the NRNA statistics, 486 Nepali nationals died due to COVID-19 in 29 countries across the countries so far. This is the first time a Nepali is died of coronavirus in Iraq.

Health Committee of the NRNA said that about 127,934 Nepalis in 54 countries were infected with the virus. Of them, 117,529 are recovered by Friday. Approximately 91.86 per cent Nepalis infected with the COVID-19 are recovered, Coordinator of the committee Dr. Sanjeeb Sapkota said.
