Kathmandu, Aug. 15
The government has formed a task force to facilitate
the operations to rescue Nepalis in Afghanistan.
As the Taliban intensified armed war in Afghanistan,
many countries are rescuing their citizens who are in the country for work and
other reasons.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA),
the task force will be led by the Coordinator of Middle Asia, West Asia and
Africa Division at the ministry.
Members of the committee include representatives, of
gazetted first class officer, joint secretary or the officer of the same rank,
from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social
Security, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ministry of Health
and Population, Nepal Police, COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre and Department
of Consular Services.
A meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary Shankar Das
Bairagi had decided to form the task force to find out the status of Nepalis in
Afghanistan and conduct rescue operation in cooperation with the concerned
agencies.
The government has created an online registration
portal at https://nepalconsular.gov.np/ and the
concerned individuals or their families can update information in the portal.
The MoFA has urged the concerned people to immediately fill the required
information.

Services at +977-9749326458 and MoFA at +9779749326459 on Viber and WhatsApp.
The government has already requested the United
States of America, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, European Union, Japan and
United Nations to help in the immediate rescue of Nepalis, keep them in safer
locations and repatriate to Nepal.
Similarly, a travel advisory about the recent
development in Afghanistan is issued from the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi,
India. The embassy could be reached via mobile/WhatsApp no. +918929601925 and

The ministry has also urged the manpower companies
to provide the details of Nepali workers they had sent to Afghanistan.
