Newly appointed Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Madhu
Kumar Marasini has taken the oath of office as the member of the Board of
Directors of Nepal Rastra Bank.
Justice of the Supreme Court Tej Bahadur KC administered the
oath of office and secrecy to Marasini at the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
According to the Article 14 of the Nepal Rastra Bank Act,
2001, Finance Secretary also becomes the member of the central bank’s board.
Governor of the NRB and member of the board should take the oath of office and
secrecy from the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court or a Justice appointed by
him.
Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court Lal Bahadur Kunwar and
Director of the NRB Governor’s Office Mukti Nath Sapkota were present on the
occasion.
Meanwhile, Marasini has resigned from the post of the
Chairman of Nepal Bank Limited.
While serving as the Financial Comptroller General, he was
appointed as the Chairman of the first bank in the country.
Company Secretary of the NBL Keshav Prasad Bhandari said in
a statement on Wednesday that Marasini had resigned from the post on Monday.
