Kathmandu, Aug 6
Revenue Secretary Ram Sharan Pudasaini is retiring from his post on Sunday.
He is biding adieu to the government job due to age bar after serving for
33 years at the Ministry of Finance and various departments under it. He also
served at the World Bank and Asian Development Bank.
Finance Minister Janardan Sharma and various departments handed over
token of love and shawl to him at a farewell programme organised at the
Ministry on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, FM Sharma appreciated the expertise of
Pudasaini and said that the country would utilise his knowledge and skills in
the days to come as well.
Meanwhile, he directed the revenue officials to create a policy for a
just distribution of the taxes paid the people from their hard-earned income.
While every policy of the country undergoes a continuous reform process,
Minister Sharma said that he wanted ‘qualitative reform’.
“I think that continuous reform is not sufficient. If there were not
qualitative reforms, policies become status-quoist and they cannot address the
aspiration for change,” he said, adding that he was there to make reforms which
would be made after due analysis of the situation.
Finance Secretary Madhu Kumar Marasini appreciated Pudasaini for his
stainless career at the government service.
Pudasaini urged the civil servants to selflessly offer their services to the country and people. “We have joined the government service to contribute to the development of the country,” he said.
