UK Ambassador calls on PM Oli

 Kathmandu, Aug. 13

Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Nepal Rob Fenn paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday.

In the meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar, mutual relations between the two countries and bilateral interests were discussed, informed the PM's Secretariat.

Prime Minister Oli said that while strengthening Nepal's federalism and democracy, the government has given priority to development, increasing the participation of youth in policy-making and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

He also said that the government was taking initiatives to fulfill the national aspirations of "Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali'. He clarified that since the government was formed with the cooperation between two major parties, the government is determined to fulfil the expectations of the people.

Ambassador Fenn expressed his happiness that the issue of transitional justice law was about to be resolved based on political consensus and informed that the British government's support in the fields of Nepal's development, good governance and strengthening of federalism will continue.

He also clarified that Nepali businesspeople would be facilitated in exporting their products to the UK.
