CAN Federation to organize ICT meet


 Kathmandu, June 11:

Federation of Computer Association of Nepal (CAN Federation) is organizing the International ICT Conference 2018 from June 17 to 18 in Kathmandu.

 At a press meet on Monday, CAN Federation said that it was organising the international conference to help achieve sustainable development goals from the information and communication technology (ICT) sector.

The slogan of the upcoming ICT conference will be ‘Sustainable development goals for Smart Society’, said Ranjeet Poddar, general secretary, CAN Federation.

At the two-day conference, high level government officials, ICT experts from China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, South Korea and UNDP will present their papers.

Papers relating to ICT infrastructure, digital economy, security, situation of ICT uses, achievement and future plans in the ICT sector will be presented by experts, he said.

From the discussion to be held at the conference, a concept paper will be developed and handed over to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, he said.

Various ministries, departments and national and international organisations are supporting CAN in  organising  the event.
