Kathmandu, Nov. 13: Deputy Prime
Minister and Minister for Health and Population Upendra Yadav has underscored
the need to accelerate joint efforts with Qatar in making Nepali migrant
workers more skilled.
“We need to further accelerate the joint-efforts in making Nepali
migrant workers more skilled, trained and qualified to their prosepctive jobs
and professions,” he said in a meeting with Minister of Administrative
Developmet of Qatar Yousef bin Mohammed Al Othman Farhro on Tuesday in Doha.
In this context, establishment of an advanced training institute to
enhance workers’ skills and competence was featured during the discussion,
including other areas of mutual cooperation, said the Embassy of Nepal in Doha.
Yadav and Farhro discussed matters related to the promotion of bilateral
relations between Nepal and the State of Qatar, including the issues of safety,
security and welfare of Nepali workers there.
Similarly, views were also expressed on further expanding mutual
cooperation and collaboration between the concerned authorities of both the
governments.
DPM Yadav participated in the opening ceremony of World Innovative
Summit for Health (WISH).
Earlier on Monday, he participated in the opening ceremony of Sidra
Medicine, a facility committed to providing women and children of Qatar with
world class tertiary health care services. He also visited Qatar Rehabilitation
Centre and Ambulatory Care Centre of Hamad Medical Corporation where he
interacted with Nepali patients receiving treatment there.
DPM Yadav is on a visit of Qatar leading a Nepali delegation to
participate in the World Innovative Summit for Health (WISH) being held in Doha
on November 13 and 14.
