FM seeks help in boosting Nepal’s export to UK


Kathmandu, Dec. 17

Minster for Finance Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada on Sunday urged the United Kingdom to help Nepal in enhancing goods export to the UK.

During a meeting with the UK’s Ambassador to Nepal Nicola Pollitt at the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday, he requested her to facilitate in bringing British investment to Nepal. Pollitt paid a courtesy call to the FM at his office.

“Nepal has tremendously improved the investment climate and process of Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement with the UK has also been initiated. Therefore, it is appropriate time to invest in Nepal,” said Dr. Khatiwada.

He thanked the UK for its support in the post-quake reconstruction and expected greater support in making the Visit Nepal Year 2020, a success. He also informed the envoy about the progress Nepal made in terms of the implementation of federalism, revenue and trade and development agenda.

Pollitt pledged UK’s support in the future as per its policy. “The UK is happy to see Nepal’s political stability,” she said.
