Kathmandu, Dec. 3:
NMB Bank has received the international
standard certificate from TÜV Rheinland, Germany, for its system to protect
customers' data and stakeholders' information.
With this it has become the first Nepali
bank to achieve ISO 27001:2013 Certification in recognition of its compliance
with the standards in developing and implementing Information Security
Management System (ISMS) to protect customers' data and maintain security of
stakeholder’s information assets.
The certificate was awarded by Thomas
Ernst Gottfried Fuhrmann, Managing Director, TUV Rheinland to Sunil K.C, Chief
Executive Officer, NMB Bank, said the company in a press statement on Tuesday.
Founded 145 years ago, TÜV Rheinland is
a global leader in independent inspection services and ISO Certification.
"The
ISO 27001 standard certifies NMB to have established methodologies and
framework for business and IT processes to help identify, manage and reduce
risks to the security of information systems," said the bank.
ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification is
widely recognised and internationally accepted information security standards.
