NMB Bank becomes a ISO certified company

Kathmandu, Dec. 3:

NMB Bank has received the international standard certificate from TÜV Rheinland, Germany, for its system to protect customers' data and stakeholders' information.

With this it has become the first Nepali bank to achieve ISO 27001:2013 Certification in recognition of its compliance with the standards in developing and implementing Information Security Management System (ISMS) to protect customers' data and maintain security of stakeholder’s information assets.

The certificate was awarded by Thomas Ernst Gottfried Fuhrmann, Managing Director, TUV Rheinland to Sunil K.C, Chief Executive Officer, NMB Bank, said the company in a press statement on Tuesday.

Founded 145 years ago, TÜV Rheinland is a global leader in independent inspection services and ISO Certification.

"The ISO 27001 standard certifies NMB to have established methodologies and framework for business and IT processes to help identify, manage and reduce risks to the security of information systems," said the bank.

ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification is widely recognised and internationally accepted information security standards.
