Kathmandu, Dec. 4
Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and
Industry (FNCCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Asian Disaster
Preparedness Centre (ADPC) in Myanmar on Tuesday.
The MoU was signed to create cooperation and
collaboration to cope with the challenges during and after disasters.
The agreement will facilitate the two organisations
to jointly work in preparedness plans and saving lives of people from natural
disasters, said the FNCCI.
FNCCI Vice-President Kishor Pradhan and ADPC’s
Executive Director Hans Guttman signed the MoU during the fifth regional
meeting of the Asian Preparedness Partnership in Myanmar.
The two organisations will collaborate in training,
workshop and meeting for awareness building, technical support, human resource
development and information sharing.
Multistakeholder agencies of Cambodia, Myanmar, the
Philippines, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are members of the APD.
Speaking at the conference, Pradhan expressed his happiness
on the opportunity to collaborate with the multilateral organisation and
expected to learn from the experience of the member countries.
