Envoy Budd calls on Minister Bhattarai

Kathmandu, Sept. 8

Ambassador of Australia to Nepal Peter Budd has paid a farewell call to Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhatarai at the latter’s office in Singh Durbar on Tuesday.

He is returning to Australia after completing his three-year tenure as an envoy to Nepal.

Minister Bhattarai expressed his hope that the envoy would support in Nepal’s tourism promotion in Australia, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.

“The two countries have already signed aviation agreement and rescue flight had also been successfully conducted so I hope that there will be direct flight connection in the near future,” Minister Bhattarai said, .

Ambassador Budd pledged his support to tourism development in Nepal. “My stay is Nepal was pleasant and I got the opportunity to visit many locations in the country and experienced the culture, heritages and touristic attractions,” he said.

He expressed his gratitude to Minister Bhattarai for the successful rescue of Australian citizens from Nepal during the coronavirus pandemic.
