Kathmandu, Sept. 11
Qatar Airways has announced the resumption of three flights a week from
Kathmandu that started from September 5.
“Services
to the capital city of Nepal will be operated by the airline’s state-of-the-art
Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft and Airbus A320 aircraft,” said the company in a
statement.
As per the guidelines of the
Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal, the airways will
board the passengers, including Nepali nationals, employees of the United
Nations organisations, development partners and diplomats.
Additionally,
all arriving passengers to Nepal must have a negative RT-PCR test conducted
within 72 hours of the scheduled flight time and must have completed an online
entry form.
Qatar
Airways Area Sales Manager – South Asia Sub Continent, Karthik Viswanathan,
said, “We welcome the reopening of Nepal to commercial flights and I want to
thank the MoCTCA
for their support in helping us to operate several charter flights throughout
this pandemic to help get people home.”
The
airline said that it would allow unlimited date changes, and passengers could
change their destination as often as they need if it was within 5,000 miles of
the original destination.
The
airline will not charge any fare differences for travel completed before
December 31,2020, after which fare rules will apply. All tickets booked for
travel up to December 31, 2020 will be
valid for two years from the date of issuance, read the statement.
Qatar
Airways’ on-board safety measures for passengers and cabin crew include the
provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for cabin crew and a
complimentary protective kit and disposable face shields for passengers.
