Switzerland appreciates federalism in Nepal

 Kathmandu, Nov. 13

Switzerland has appreciated Nepal's success in the implementation of federalism and clarity on policies in terms of moblising development aid to the federal as well as subnational governments.

Swiss Ambassador to Nepal Elisabeth Von Capeller has made such comments of appreciation on the execution of federalism in Nepal during a meeting with Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel.

Capeller has called on the Minister at his office in Singhadurbar on Friday afternoon.

She said that the Swiss government had continued its support to Nepal in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic and it would be continued in the days to come.

According to her, the Swiss government would support the vision of the prime minister and priority of the current government in terms of development.

FM Paudel said that he wanted to further strengthen the bilateral relations between Nepal and Switzerland through mutual trust and cooperation.

He appreciated the European countries' effort to control the second wave of coronavirus pandemic in the region.

During the meeting, an agreement of Rs. 1.26 billion was signed between the two governments for Motoral Local: Roads Bridge Programme (Phase – IV).

Capeller and Joint Secretary of the MoF Shreekrishna Nepal signed the agreement on behalf their respective governments.
