Worldlink, Imark win global awards

Kathmandu, Nov. 20

World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) has felicitated Worldlink Communication Limited and Imark Pvt. Ltd. with WISTA Global ICT Excellence Merit Award.

Worldlink received the Digital Opportunity/Inclusion Award and Imark received COVID-19 Best Industry Solutions.

The awards were handed over to the companies on the second day of the ongoing Techfest Live X Road-to-WCIT Malaysia 2020, informed Computer Association of Nepal Federation on Friday.

The Global ICT Excellence Award Programme, which started two decades ago, was oganised virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The two companies are among the best 41 companies selected from hundreds around the world. They were awarded for their contribution to the development and expansion of information and communication technology.

Worldlink is providing free wifi in 8,550 locations and about 150,000 are benefitted from the service daily.

Likewise, Imark has received the award for its ICT contribution in the fight against coronavirus. It has developed COVIDNP, a contract tracing mobile application, in collaboration with Pioneer Associates and Ideal Concern. It has also created a web platform covid19.gov.np for public and health workers.

Meanwhile, Immediate Past President of the CAN Federation Hemant Kumar Chaurasia has been elected as the member of the WITSA’s Board of Directors for the second term.
