Kathmandu, Sept. 14:
The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has said that
it would celebrate the World Investors’ Week (WIW) from October 1 – 6, organising
several events.
On the first day of the week, a morning rally will
be organised to raise awareness on securities and commodities markets.
A tri-monthly interaction with the investors will be
launched on October 3, and pamphlets and leaflets will be published.
“Interaction will be organised among the SEBON,
Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) Limited, CDS and Clearing Limited, securities’
brokers, investors and capital market experts. The interaction and interviews
will be transmitted through television channels,” said the SEBON.
The next day, a radio programme about investors’
literacy, awareness building and capital market will be launched.
On the last two days of the WIW, a Capital Market
Expo will be organised in Biratnagar, capital of the Province One. The
exhibition will have 100 stalls related to tools and techniques of securities
market. Literature and information about the securities, economic progress,
brokerage services, real sectors and other related topics will be distributed
in the exhibition, said SEBON.
The capital market regulator of the country is
celebrating the WIW since it obtained the membership of the International
Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) in 2016 July.
The WIW is being organised to provide the common
people with the information about the capital market and enhance investors’
awareness.
