64 BFIs offering C- ASBA


Kathmandu, Jan. 14: In less than a year of Centralised Application for ASBA-Based Issuance (C-ASBA) system implementation, 64 Banks and Financial Institutions (BFIs) have been associated with it and 771,880 investors have obtained the CRN (C-ASBA Registration Number).

According to the Central Depository System and Clearing (CDSC) Limited, 57 companies have issued and distributed shares through the new C-ASBA system. Likewise, about 398,388 investors are using CDSC-developed online system ‘Mero Share’ to get information about their securities investment.

The CDSC said in the 8th Annual General Assembly held recently that the number of companies registered for the dematerialisation (D-Mat) of shares has reached 195. The number of total D-Mat accounts has reached 1.42 million so far with 421,523 accounts added in the last fiscal year.

Likewise, about 1 billion 27 million units of shares were dematerialised so far.
