NEPSAS awards two technology projects in Nepal


Kathmandu, Jan. 12: The concept of Zero Energy Cold Store and the Kit to Check Adulteration of Milk each have won Rs. 100,000 in prize at the Swiss-Nepal Technology Transfer Workshop 2019 held here.

The third edition of the workshop witnessed 80 competitors presenting their technological innovation.
The organiser, Nepalese Scientific Association in Switzerland (NEPSAS), said that it received more than 500 applications for the workshop and 80 of them were shortlisted for the programme.

We selected 54 competitors through 'speed dating' practice and made 17 teams on identical ideas, said Ranjan Mishra, President of NEPSAS.

The selected teams were trained on 'startup based on technology' concepts by the experts for four days.

The team that makes the best prototype will have an opportunity to participate in the 'World Innovation Forum'.

French Ambassador to Nepal Elisabeth von Capeller and Professor of Bio-science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Dr. Matthis Peter handed over the prize to the winners. The best ideas will also have an opportunity to gain access to the innovation centres at the Swiss Federal Institute.
