Kathmandu, Jan. 19: The second Himalayan Hydro Expo
going on at the Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Centre has witnessed 28,000 visitors
in the last two days.
The three-day long event, jointly organised by the
Independent Power Producers Association of Nepal (IPPAN) and Expo and Event
Management Services, started on Friday and will be concluded on Sunday.
More than 85 exhibitors are displaying their
products and providing consultation services to the customers from more than
100 stalls. Technology and other
products from Nepal, India, China, Bulgaria, Austria, Germany, South Korea,
Sweden and England are showcased in the expo.
The products range from electro-mechanical,
hydro-mechanical, control, protection and data supervisory system, construction
equipment, solar modules, electric vehicles, tunneling equipment from prominent
institutions like VOITH, Epicrock Mining India, WEG Industries India Pvt. Ltd,
APE Power, GEPPERT Hydropower, Toshiba Corporation, DEC Dongfeng Electric
Machinery Co., Ltd and others.
Visitors are also going for the field observation of
various hydroelectricity projects in Dordi Corridor and Upper Marshyangdi and
Solu Corridor. The Expo also features Robo Competition and various competitions
for the engineering students.
The organisers said that the visitors were attracted
to the hydro technology and latest products.
