PM appeals to private sector to intensify business activities


Kathmandu, Jan. 8:
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has appealed to the private sector entrepreneurs to intensify their business and investment activities across the country.
“You keep on doing business with full dedication. The government is ready to put its efforts in creating favourable business climate in the country,” he said while meeting with a delegation of businessmen led by Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) President Rajesh Kazi Shrestha the other evening
The business delegation included the representatives of 66 district and 45 municipal chambers of commerce from across the country.
They were gathered in the capital to celebrate the National Chamber Day and the 68th Annual General Assembly of the NCC on Monday.
The PM said that he was very positive towards the private sector request to create investment-friendly environment in Nepal.
“We need a huge investment in order to attain the economic prosperity. But it may take a while since the country is undergoing through new political structure and many things are yet to be kept in order,” he said.
He urged the private sector to have patience.
NCC President Shrestha draw the attention of the PM towards the bills of some acts such as the one related to liquor and said that the provisions in the bills contradicted with the business interest.
PM Oli assured that the legal provisions would be corrected in a way that they would not hamper the regular business activities and tourism.
